After a bullying incident at their elite school, half-siblings Caroline and Lucien decide to preserve their power and reputation by seducing the daughter of the Vice President of the United States. This will be the third attempt at creating a television series based on the world of Cruel Intentions (1999). The direct-to-video sequel Cruel Intentions 2 (2000), which replaced Sarah Michelle Gellar as Kathryn Merteuil, was originally scripted as a television series before being made into a feature film. Gellar later reprised her role as Kathryn in 2016 in the NBC pilot Cruel Intentions (2016), which was not ordered to series.
