American (English) remake of the French series HPI (2021)
Narrative
Follow Morgan, a single mother of three, as she uses her exceptional mind to help solve a crime by rearranging evidence during her shift as a cleaner at the police station. Despite his very high IQ, excellent memory and extensive knowledge of secret matters, Morgan makes a number of basic mistakes in the law that anyone who has ever watched a legal show on TV, he knows that he should not commit. For example, in the first episode, she takes out of a locked safe in the legal office of the suspect-victim a document that will never be admissible in court – illegally obtained evidence.
Remake of HPI (2021)
It also cannot be used to obtain other evidence — a violation of the “fruit of the poisonous tree” legal doctrine. In episode 2, she needs to be reminded to wear gloves before taking evidence at a crime scene, and in episode 3, she takes all the documented evidence from the police station, completely breaking the chain of custody and making everything she took also inadmissible in judge. Well, the series is off to a great start, with Caitlin Olson delivering a solid performance.
In this episode, she is overly complacent and obstructs the work
The series is very similar to the TBS series Monk, where a borderline man with Asperger’s syndrome helps the police solve crimes. Again, the series is solid so far, but not as weird or funny as Monk, but it’s fun to watch. Everything really goes off the rails in episode 3, and I hope episode 4 really improves.
Tactics that will invalidate the case
She takes the evidence from the police station, she processes the evidence and contaminates it. CONSEQUENCES? Zero….
Again, hopefully this will improve with episode 4
It’s almost distracting how annoying she is in this episode. She shows almost no signs of self-awareness or remorse for her actions.
